Lord of the Flies by William Golding

Picture
I have read a book called Lord of the flies, by William Golding, who throughout the book uses astonishing expressions to intrigue the reader. For instance I was captivated by this quote, “ He giggles while the boys laughed at his reeking palms. Then Jack grabbed Maurice and rubbed the stuff over his cheeks. Roger began to withdraw his spear and the boys noticed it for the first time. Robert stabilized the thing in a phrase, which was received uproariously.” I adored this quote because it has a massive amount of strong vocabulary words and how he put the phrases was just bewildering. I enjoyed this book also because he employs such impertinent techniques that made me imagine that I was the person experiencing what was actually occurring. I kept on asking myself, “How does he do that?” While reading, I never had the time to close the book because there would always be something engaging that caught my eye to read on. He explains things in such a dramatic way that I appreciated a lot. For example this quote was really special because I never heard of such a sterling personification. He wrote, “The wind whispered many truths to me!” I appreciated this quote because it has such an intense meaning behind just seven words.  I also esteemed this oxymoron, “a sad joy,” which he established to describe how one of the characters felt after something positive happened but in some way, he was also dismal. My opinion is that whoever approves realistic or fantasy novels, will definitely cherish this book! I fancy how the author combined a realistic story with some fantasy facts like how people do in cartoons. Overall I grade this book 8 out of ten and believe that you should give it a try and read this marvellous book! Before you go off and read this book, I will encapsulate what it’s about.

Summary: The Lord of the flies is about a group of juvenile students that fly off on a trip and unexpectedly, their plane crashes on a deserted island. Content about their parents’ absences, they celebrate their joyous moment not recognizing what arduous moments they will have to go through. Gradually they start using their brains and reunite to build heavy, habitable huts and find abundant elements to survive. They commence to notice that during the daytime, when the baking sun shone, their lives were innocuous and blissful, but during the night, their lives were in risk. They seemed to be hunted by a terrifying beast that made their sweat dreams vanish. After two or three alarming nights, they begin to disagree with other peoples’ ideas on how to get things going. They suddenly separate and make it more challenging for their return back home. The only way they could go back was if they made a fire, but they never thought that a ship would come by. The more they stayed in that hazardous island, the more things started to get worst and the more their lives were in danger! They started to regret their pleasure of the adults’ absence. Slowly they start to remark that some of the students disappeared and they didn’t know why! Ignoring that they were enraged with each other, they decided to go search for them. Ralph, the leader of the group suddenly hears an unpleasant scream near by. “Oh my goodness!” he exclaimed. Just in front of him there was a…. Sorry guys! You have to read the book. What’s the harm in trying?
