The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime

One star is the lowest rating and five stars is the highest rating.
Author: Mark Haddon

Genre: Mystery

Summary: This novel is a mystery, but it is much more than that! The main character, Christopher Boone, is a young man with unique challenges and skills. The reader learns more about him and his world as he narrates this tale of a murder in the neighborhood. Although others don't think he can, Christopher is determined to find the killer and bring safety and order back to his community. To learn the killer's name, you'll have to read the book yourself!

Opinion: I loved this book because the main character is so unique. He is a 15 year old boy who has autism and as the narrator, he shows the reader the world through his eyes. I think it can be hard to understand people who are very different from you, however this book does a great job of building this kind of understanding due to great writing with empathy and attention to details.

Reviewer: Robyn Schroeder

Robyn's favorite books are fiction novels that illuminate human nature and messages of hope through great writing. She doesn't usually like mysteries, but the compelling main character in this book made it an exception.
